WHAT EVERYONE IS TOO POLITE TO SAY ABOUT STEVE JOBS
The article above articulates better what I tried to say in a previous post about Jobs.
Highlights of the article are:
“Apple’s factories in China have regularly employed young teenagers and people below the legal work age of 16, made people work grueling hours, and have tried to cover all this up. That’s according to Apple’s own 2010 report about its factories in China.”“Apple’s devices have connected us to a world of information. But they don’t permit a full expression of ideas. Indeed, the people Apple supposedly serves — “the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers” — have been particularly put out by Jobs’ lockdown. That America’s most admired company has followed such an un-American path, and imposed centralized restrictions typical of the companies it once mocked, is deeply disturbing.”
I’m not trying to put a dead man down, my voice is too small & insignificant. Hero worship just bothers me deeply. It is important that we know that there are no heroes, just people.
The same “beatification” happened here when Cory passed away. Cory Aquino was not even physically present during Edsa revolution & her term was not all that great. She supported the ousting of Erap that put GMA in power (for 9 years @_@) then teamed up with Erap later against GMA, why? I don’t know, but we tend to forget things like that. We forget a lot. Erap seems to be the good guy these days, never mind that he was ousted a decade ago.
If we stop thinking in terms of heroes & villains I think we will make better decisions.
Someday, I hope to be smarter to be able to express this thought more, for now do your own Googling & check out this little political inforaphic  : )
